Health and safety at work is of particular significance in the SULO Group. In every company of the SULO Group, a specialist in occupational health and safety ensures that safety risks are mitigated without delay and that employees are trained and sensitised accordingly. This requires a continuous improvement and development process. Technical solutions are always first in focus in order to secure machinery and equipment. Investments in this area have unrestricted priority. Important rules for occupational safety apply equally to all persons on the premises. Safety information is handed to each visitor when entering the premises.

The SULO Group owes its excellent occupational safety standard to the consistent commitment of the staff involved in occupational safety, prioritisation by management and compliance with the rules and mutual control amongst its employees.

In addition to the highest certification for occupational safety, the OSHAS 18001, the SULO Group has been certified by professional association BGHM according to the "Sicher mit System" regulation. This bears witness to the high value placed on safety, the responsibility placed on our employees and their willingness to meet these challenges on a daily basis.

We are convinced that our activities can be safety carried out and we do not compromise on this. We carry out our business in such a way, that health and welfare of our employees, the employees of external companies and all persons affected by our activities, are guaranteed. We know, that a continuously improving our health and occupational safety achievements is of great importance for a successful company. This Health and Occupational Safety Policy is the basis for the framework for setting and reviewing targets.

To ensure a high health and safety standard and continuous improvement of processes SULO has implemented a health and safety management system.

The following principles define our actions:
 

Leadership behaviour

Staff at all levels of SULO is responsible for their own health and safety and serve as an example to others. The management is accountable for health and occupational safety. The managers show an exemplarily leadership behaviour in this field.

 

Hazards, risks and control measures

We identify the hazards and risks related to our activities and starting with our main risks. We have introduced appropriate control measures and always verify them in case of changes new, so that continuous improvements are achieved.

 

Qualification and Behaviour

We train our employees in such a way, that they can contribute to long term improvements of health and occupational safety results.
 

Accident analysis and accident prevention

We have introduced a procedure to report and respectively record occupational accidents and near accidents and to examine and analyze, so that cases of recurrence can be excluded in future. Our cause analysis generates findings and recommendations, which are together being used and implemented in the company.
 

External companies

We select external companies, which are working professionally and effectively. As to the safety and behaviour rules we do not make any difference between external companies and SULO employees at our sites.
 

Control, audit and review

We have arranged a documented system to control our health and occupational safety. We regularly carry out audits of our risk control measures and management systems. We observe behaviour on all levels, in order to guarantee creating a successful health and occupational safety culture at SULO.
